Among the protesters the Charlotte Interfaith Connection stood alongside many other faith groups with booths at this year’s Charlotte PRIDE! It was a great turnout and we were able to talk to many people about bridging the gap between the faith community and the LGBT community. We also just had a lot of fun!

CRANE Prop 8 Protest - Fri 29 May 2009

The Charlotte Interfaith Connection joined up with the Charlotte Rainbow Action Network for Equality (CRANE) on the evening of Friday 29 May 2009 to protest Proposition 8. We wanted to show our support to the community in California. We also wanted to come together as a diverse community to encourage and exhort one another. Pamela Jones spoke in the beginning of the rally on behalf of the Transgender community. Grace Downer spoke from the faith based perspective reminding the community that what some do in God’s name is not necessarily God’s work. God does love us all.
